To participate in the HSPDP in 2011-12, schools join the Public Debate Program (PDP) and pay annual membership dues and a league fee for workshops and tournament competitions. The annual PDP membership fee is $50 for a school or other institution – it is also possible to register as an individual. PDP members receive additional curricular materials, newsletters, and contest opportunities. Coaches and students are eligible for members-only workshops, public debates and discussions, lectures, demonstrations teams, select national and international events, internships, and leadership events.

Schools also pay an annual fee for league workshops and tournaments. Annual league registration is $450 per school. The fee includes all registration costs for all students for HSPDP league workshops and tournaments. The PDP membership and league registration fees are due by December 1, 2011. In addition to annual membership and league registration dues, there is a nominal school fee for the HSPDP Championship Tournament. There are invitational tournament fees for WSDC-format events scheduled during the academic year.

• MIDDLE SCHOOLS
Middle schools participating in MSPDP workshops and tournaments pay annual league dues. In a number of cases, the payment is to the local league, which administers local event operations. In other cases, the Claremont Colleges Debate Union administers the MSPDP league.
