INVITATION – Debate Workshop – October 1
Who: Any participating HSPDP school or high school interested in 2011-12 HSPDP programming may register…Each school may register up to 12 students and 3 teachers (one or more teachers must accompany students)
What: Debate Workshop – comprehensive format instruction for new and experienced debaters, as well as a coaching session; elective sessions for debaters include the following:
- Understanding the High School Public Debate Program Format
- Taking Winning Notes
- Research
- Basic and Advanced Argumentation
- The Art of Rebuttal
- Advanced Debating Techniques
Where: Claremont McKenna College, Bauer Forum (auditorium located in Bauer Center South – circular building at the east end of the campus; #36 on the interactive campus map, http://www.cmc.edu/about/campusmaps/print/printmap.php)
When: Saturday, October 1, 12:00-4:00 PM
- 11:50 AM-12:00 PM Arrival
- 12:00-12:50 PM Session 1 HSPDP Format and Electives
- 1:00-1:50 PM Session 2 Electives and Coaching Discussion
- 2:00-2:50 PM Session 3 Electives
- 3:00-4:00 PM Session 4 Electives
